What CD burning software are you running?
You can try uninstalling it to see if it helps.
Also make sure you have the latest drivers installed.
If the problem persists then you could try updating the BIOS.

Yes it is a new burner....optorite cw1502.....nero version 6 software. It also locks up or can't find the drive (sometimes). I have tried everything except updating the motherboard I have had no other problems, old cd/rw burner workd ok....but was slow. Have tried everything tech support suggested.

Next time you burn a disk look for a couple of check boxes on the lower left hand corner of the screen that pops up after you start burning. Make sure that there is no check next to (AUTOMATICALLY SHUT DOWN PC WHEN DONE).
