Hello. my question is how does one determine what size speakers you can use?
I am only listening to music and DVDs on my computer . Any suggestions that aren't to expensive would be great.
Thank you in advance for any answers.

ronni50,
I dont know what kind of stores you have in your area, but around here we have Fry's Electronics, don't go there expecting customer service. But they have it set up so that you can listen to all the speakers and they are sorted by price. But, I would have to say anything by Altec Lansing is normally pretty good.

Hi!
I would rather try out Logitech Wood.
A couple of weeks back there whas another guy here, looking for speakers.
He bought the Logitechs, and whas very satisfied with them.
They just dont sound great, they look great too.
I know, because a friend of mine got them.

I think it depends on what your price range is. "Not too expensive" doesn't really say much. If you're looking for something in the price range of "cheap" then go with Altec Lansing. Best sound for cheap.

Another pair of speakers I can recommend, is Cambridge Soundworks
I got a 5.1 surrond Cambridge myself. Exact same satelite speakers.
O.K., they are not really cheap 69.99 USD.
But it's one of the best you can get!

Hello
My favourite company is TRUST, go to the website below
www.trust.com
I have nearly all there products, and those 5.1 headphones sound superb quality sound. I have a keyboard from then a joystick and mouse and webcam and modem, i wonder what else i could buy, hmmmmmmm.
I have added the ones that i think may be ok for 5.1 sound, anyway they look good, nice square speakers and separate amplifier, and separate base unit, not like thes awful cambridge soundworks ones where the amplifier is buiolt into the sub woofer, so you have difficulty setting the base loudnes since the volume controler in on the back of the base unit on the floor, which you have your hear about 4 inch away from the speaker when settings base volume, then when you set down about 1 metre away does not sound loud enough or is to loud, since you are deafend by it, any way i took the base speaker out of it, got fed up with having to go under table, at least the volume control for the front and rear is and a loop wire.
Regards
Andrew

I have set the sound on my Cambridge Sub Woofer once. And the bass level fine adjustments, I do from the software.
Never had to crawl around on the floor for adjusting the bass since then.
