How do I disable the onboard video card i have Xp home edition and well i read the other topics simular to this and there is a problem i dont get that scrren that tells me my motherbord stuff i just get that hp crap that says press F1 for help when i go in there i dont know what to do. there is an option where it says something about video card and you choose from PCI or AGP/ONboard but it is already set to PCI but the on board card it still enabled? Do you guys think it will automaticly disable it self when i plug in the new card?

Mine disabled itself (I think). However, it would still be safer to disable it first. You were trying to do it from the BIOS right? Well, you can also do it from Windows. Go into Control Panel, then find the System icon, then go to the Hardware tab, then click on the Device Manager button, then click on the plus by the Display Adapters thing and find your card and click on it. Then, up on the top bar of the window, there should be an icon that looks like a no smoking sign, but with a computer. When you mouse over, it should say disable. Click on that. I've never done that before, because I didn't seem to need to, but I don't know what happens after you click that. It should be pretty straight forward.

DDR ram has one dent liek thing on teh bottom of the chip where the little pins are....and SD has tow of them...DDR ram performs better then SD but it really dosnt matter what the computer thinks it is as long as it works

Posted by: Demicron

Can i buy 2 sticks of Sdram and mix it with 2 Sticks of DDR ram?

Posted by: redwench

why would you want to? sdram is slower, and probably more expensive at this point.
