I wen to radio shack and the guy there builds/makes games, so i asked what iwas supposed to do, and i did. I got an ethernet cord, plugged it into the back of my ps2, plugged it in to the back of my internet router, and tested the connection. The screen came up after it finished Trying to connect, and it said connection timed out.

Does your router already have a firewall? What kind of router is it?

I think the first thing you should do is make sure you are getting internet service from the router. You should have you internet as Modem (DSL or Cable) connected to the back of the router. The Router should then be connected to the back of the computer(s) and PS2. If you have a firewall on the router you may need to open the port.
