Folders wont open,comp freezes

Hey fellaz, my friends computer is having a bit of a problem. When she trys to open up a few of her folders (my pictures,settings,and such...) it just fades as if it were clicked. The timer comes on like the folder is waiting to be opened but then does nothing and she gets an error saying to run the debugger. It is really annoying for her. Are there any suggestions that you may have to fix this problem. Oh yeah by the way in order for her to get rid of the freezing of attempting to open the folder she has to press ctrl+alt+del and under processeces, ending something, then the desktop blanks out for about 5 secs and then it fine again.>> Any ideas??????
