Dose big business have a constitutional right to portray violence on television? On the radio? In video games? Do you think the warnings "Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics" or " This program contains grphic content" are adequate to protect childern?

yes.

it is the parents' responsibility to monitor their childrens' activities. the rest of us shouldn't have to be afflicted with censorship nonsense.

i totaly agree with you 100%
I think they have the right to put violence in shows, movies, games because it is freedom of expression and if they have a warning label then if you watch it or play it or listen to it then you’re doing it at your own risk.

Its not big business its the federal government. They assign radio waves so you cant just make your own, I believe they do the same with television.

Funny how the PUBLIC airwaves (as they are called) are not owned by the public, but rather the federal gov't...

I'm libertairian in that nature and wish gov't would be hands off when it came to internet, radio, tv, etc

Amen, red. I also agree 100 %. As a parent myself, i use these ratings/warnings as a means to "red flag" material i dont want my kid to see.

are you guys serious? theres no way in hell a parent can moniter everything a kid sees

on a different note i agree with red too... its just parents cant moniter everything a child watches its just impractical

It's more important as a parent to teach your kid to be open minded rather than trying to keep them in a Faraday cage.

That's the way it should be but unfortunately that's not really the case.

no, your missing the point. i dont shelter him (my child), or try to monitor his every move, i just merely use those types of guides to what i personally expose him to. if something is above my childs head, we will discuss it . that is what they are for- to inform the parents as to what material is being sold. only a foolish parent would ignore them. if you are not a parent or child and are buying materials marked as "mature", ignore them.
