Partition Magic (Windows)

I installed Partition Magic 8.0 to merge my C and D drive. Both are NTFS.
I made the booth diskette as instructed and then used the GUI to merge
the C and D drives. I restarted the laptop running XP and all I get is a
blinking cursor.
I can use the boot diskette to:
a. get to the Partition Magic interface
b. get to a DOS A prompt.
No other drives are located.
Any help would be apprciated. My XP CD is not recognized and I
cannot boot from it to perform a disk repair.

um, yeah. dont fiddle with partitions on active drives unless youre willing to wipe and start over.
check the bios and see if your hard drive and cd drive are listed. if they arent, you have a hardware failure. if the boot diskette is dos, it wont detect an ntfs drive.
