Dues Ex

Hmm, lets see, ill start from the beginning. My best friend, decided he was going to buy dues ex, but I stopped him, and gave him my extra copy (I had bought Dues Ex and then Dues Ex came as bundled software for my SBLive X-Gamer). So now everything is fine and dandy, dues ex works on his computer, and then he decides he wants to upgrade.

So now, ho buys one of those tiger duron computer kits, where all the parts are shipped to you and you assemble it. He got a got it all assembled, and it came with a riva TNT 2 AGP card, now, A loooooong long time ago, when I decided I was going to fork out some money to upgrade my video card, I bought a voodoo 5 5500, but mistakenly they sent me the ATI Radeon 64mb DDR AGP card (Of course I didn't complain either). For some reason, this card wouldn't work on my machine, so, I took it out, and put my old voodoo 3 back in, and continued on, leaving the radeon on a shelf to be forgotten. As he was going over the system specs with me one day, I remembered that Radeon, and decided that id ask him if he wanted it, and of course he did, so, e replaced the TNT2 with the Radeon, everything is great, fine and dandy, his computer is much faster then his previous ones, he has a nice video card, and an all round descent system. Its this that troubles me.

In the game Dues Ex, the game is VERY VERY choppy and jerky, so much it looks like blood 2 on an Rage 2 fury... This is the only thing that doesn't work properly like it should, he has the latest ATI drivers, Creative SB Live drivers, DX 8.0, etc.. We looked through the games settings, changed everything, we must have tried a hundred different variables, and it was still like it was to start with.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Is his sound card a creative SBLive? The games they ship with the cards are slightly different and optimised for the card sometimes. Try installing the non SBLive version if this is the case.

The radeon sucks. Plain and simple. Not to mention that Deus Ex likes processor speed.
