CD-ROM trouble

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Right, for a while now my cd-rom has not been recognising the cd's i put in. The light on the front flashes for a fgew secs and then goes off. When i go to 'my computer' the cd icon is not shown. I tried un and re-installing the drivers, but to no avail.

Now when i go to 'my computer' not even the drive's (D and E) are listed. I really do not know what to do.

Any ideas? Anything would be greatly appreciated!!

O.K I downloaded that MVPCinfo, and under problems it has:

CD-ROM Drive (err.code: 39)

Anyone know what I can do to solve this??

Please?

I don't know if the code is the same as the one in windows, but an error code 39 in device manager means that windows could not load the drivers for the device. Go into device manager and try uninstalling the cd-rom. Reboot your computer and install the drivers.

Take a look in BIOS, do the drives show up there?
