Internet speed problem

Hi, i have a problem with the speed on my internet, it took me about 15 minutes to load up this website (not joking). I have a 2 megabyte boardband connection, and i am linked to a router via a wireless connection, there are two other pcs linked by the same router however the other two are linked by a cable. Please tell me why my internet is going so slow, its fine on one but on the other two it laggs really bad.

Thanks in advance
Dave

well, the first step is to connect with a problematic computer directly to the cable modem. no router, no ethernet. if the computer performance suddenly improves, youve narrowed down the problem. if it doesnt, youve also narrowed it down.

of course, if the other 2 computers are doing anything online, particularly downloading or gaming, that will do it right there.

Click on tool's----->internet option's---->clear history then click on delete cookies click ok
Log into your router's configuration page then lower a setting called MTU to 1452.

I would run the speed and tweak tests from www.dslreports.com

Sounds to me like your router isnt working.

One word, spyware. My internet was running just like that, and i had never run a spyware test. I cleared something like 860 spyware and it ran just fine.

I dont know if this will help, but go to performance.toast.net and check your throughput to gauge the effects of each thing you do.
