Save transfer from Closed to open/single player

I know that it would be dumb to be able to transfer your characters from closed to open because of the easy hackability, but i was wondering if there is a way to transfer my saves from closed b.net to open/single player. I live at the dorms in college and cant play online but i have some characters that i would like to play. Is there any way to do it? I have tried just copying the files in the USEast folder into the regular saves folder but that does nothing. Anyone know what to do or if it can even be done?
