I can host game on WCIIIX but people can't join them and they get error messages.I have Windows XP and cable with a webstar router (I think). I have McAFEE Firewall and Windows Firewall (SP2) which I disabled but it didnt help. I also disabled McAFEE's privacy service but nothing happened. Please respond!

same problem, I turned windows firewall off, and have a westell dsl modem. Do I have to change DHCP or something to actually get people to connect to games that I host?

Did you forward the port 6112 on your router?

Yeah you need to port forward. I had the same problem until airdawg helped me out

I don't know what my router is. How do i identify it? I have a box connected to my computer that says webstar on it but I dont think that's it. Does every computer have a router? Also i put the ports in my firewalls to except.

It's not the firewall if you've done that...

There's an ethernet cable going from your computer to one box, then a single cable going from that box to a second box, then a phone cord(if it's DSL) going from the second box to the wall, right?

The first box is your router, the second box is your modem.

On the first box, there should be some sort of sticker or somethign with a make and model number on it. Find that, then follow the instructions on the website. If your setup isn't as I just explained, explain your setup and we'll try again.
