Mac Os X

It finally hit me today that MAC OS X, which came out recently, is very close to what I perceive that Linux should be. It has a FreeBSD underlayer with a good user interface. It also runs Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer, I think.
So, I've been sitting here for a few hours wondering how I can play with it. But, I think it requires MAC specific hardware. So, the hardware and software seem to be out of my reach.
I'm not really looking at it from a personal perspective. This is from a business perspective.
Does anyone have some good suggestions?

You're pretty much right in guessing you need mac hardware to run it. In fact, you need to run it off of one of the relail mac models, specifically the IMac, Power Mac G3 & G4, G4 Cube, Powerbook, or Ibook. If you're willing to shell out the money for one of those, then go for it
You can't run it off another platform for a few reasons. For one, OS X is actually a dual boot operation system. Since not every Mac program runs on the Unix based OS, OS X is installed over a copy of Mac OS 9.2 (which comes packaged with OS X). That way, if a program doesn't support OS X, the mac loads a copy of OS 9.2 to accomodate it.
Dammit.......class bell just rung. I'll continue later on...
