Help with Ubi.com (splinter cell)

hello all =)
i was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem i've been encountering every time i try to play splinter cell online. this applies for both pandora tomorrow and chaos theory. everytime i try, the program immediately responds "service is unavailable" or "cannot access ubi.com server" after i click login. all my other online games like warcraft3 and generals work fine on battle.net and wol respectively, and the problem only applies to these two ubi games. any idea why? i have enabled all the firewall ports as the readme has instructed, and deactivated my windows firewall once even to try and see if it works, but to no avail. i would appreciate if anyone, just anyone at all, could guide me through this as i'm really desperate to get my game online.
