warcraft 2 port forwarding?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I've had no luck with getting Warcraft 2 Battlenet edition to work whatsoever. I've checked many forums and called Netgear.

Here is my info: Netgear router RT314 model.

windows XP on both computers, windows firewall off on both

PROBLEM: both computers go online just fine and connect to warcraft 2 battlenet, but trying to have one computer host and one join, message says "latency too high".

I know it has to be a port problem because I send files to myself using instant messanger all the time and the transfer rate is very fast.

I know my ip address

I know how to get to the port forwarding screen

I have the following set up now:

Start Port End Port Server IP Address
1 Default Default (192.168.xxx.x goes here)
2 6112 6119 (192.168.xxx.x goes here)
3 4000 4000 (192.168.xxx.x goes here)
4 0 0 0.0.0.0
etc etc etc etc

i got those numbers from http://www.portforward.com/cports.htm

I hit "apply" and it said "Write to the router successful."

Am I missing something? do i have to shut down cable modem, router and computers before these changes take effect? Please help!

I can be reached on AIM: Quadroduck

Same problem here on sc...but I dont play sc. So I didnt have to worry about it. Are you the only one using the internet and whats your internet connection? It may affect your connection to bnet games. If not contact blizzard tech support.
