networking / SBC Yahoo DSL / Linksys router

I have two computers, a PC and a laptop. The PC is connected through a Linksys WRK54G router to a 2Wire modem. Not many issues with the PC. However the laptop has a wireless card and unless I am within 10 feet of the router the signal fails regularly. The laptop has SBL Yahoo DSL software installed and we also use a networking adaptor with the laptop because it is more consistent if we are in a different room. Any suggestions? Should I make changes to the configurations. I am not a tech head, but I am not stupid either. I can follow simple computer instructions. Anyone's help would be appreciated.

It sound's like you are experiencing wireless interference to troubleshoot this you can change the channel on your router to 11,1 also make sure the rouer is in a open enviorment (Preferably)Try tweaking the wireless setting's on your router as well.

Try a different channel. 1, 6, and 11 are 'clear' channels (they don't interfere with each other the way, for example, 2 and 3 or 6 and 7 might). You might also have some kind of "robustness" to enable either on the laptop, or on the router.

You might also use 802.11a instead of b or g, or b instead of a or g, etc.
