Found the "ladybug" discussion while searching

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hello to anyone out there... I found this site as I was searching for a way to build my own "light trap" to trap and kill ladybugs. I came across a forum where everyone was discussing how to get rid of these nasty little creatures! I got the impression this site is supposed to be for "Computer Genius'", but I believe I might qualify because my son is a total computer wizard. Of course I am bragging because I am his Mother, but really he is super smart when it comes to these machines! As a matter of fact he is competing in a computer competiton this weekend in Jefferson City, Mo. ANYWAY... enough of my rambling about that. I wanted to let the guy know that is having trouble with the ladybugs, he can build his own "light trap" and that might help him. I just built one tonight and I think it's gonna work good. You can get the instructions on building on at : http://ipm.osu.edu/lady/blt1.htm Thought this might be of some help, have a great night!

Here you go, TheeMon... solution to your ladybug problem.

That looks like it might be a little too expensive for Theemon. Do you have ideas for under a dollar here? Something he doesn't have to build?

Posted by: TheeMon

hahahahaha see i am a service to ots just in unexpected ways

hey ill build one of these in the fall (when they mainly come)

hey hey we should all build these and post pics of how many lady bugs we get, and see who can get the most

and 9... i can make that for under a dollar mang

but to the lady who made this thread... hows it work? why do you have to paint it black? does black give it some special power?

edit: these links might be more helpful... http://ipm.osu.edu/lady/L.T.instr.htm (more detailed) and the main page http://ipm.osu.edu/lady/lady.htm

why would we compete to kill a beneficial insect? thats about as logical as killing cats around a granery.

Why would cats be around granaries?

Posted by: Zakir

to catch mice! you can get transparencies at school!

Why kill a beneficial insect? Because there's about 3,000,000 too many in my house, let alone the swarms that form outside. That and they bite. They are biters. Stupid biting insects...
