Comp acting wierd.

Okay...my computer's hard drive gets "corrupted" every three months (It continously restarts with no chance of going into bios or anything), and it just did. So I just formated the hard drive then reinstall XP. It works fine for the first five min...now the comp has another problem. It loads everything fine but I notice that when I drag the windows, it slows everything down (Choppy). Also for some reason msn messenger says that my email pass is wrong, but I absolutly know its right.

Additional Info:

Windows XP pro.
MSN Messenger 6.1

if it was your hard drive, you'd have no problem getting into BIOS

Yeah, that doesn't make any sense... You should be able to get into your BIOS as long as you have a mobo and ram...

And if you're screen is acting funny, make sure you r video drivers are all reinstalled properly (dl the latest version and resinstall it)

your MSN password would have nothing to do with any of this... that is stored on their server, not on your comp. Why don't click ont he "lost password" or whatever so they send you an email with your password...

Sorry, I missed the Bios part there!
But as the other guys says, you should at least be able to enter BIOS.

Maybe you should try to update it along with your video driver?

But try update the videocard driver first.

Another thing, you could try, is to pull the battery on the motherboard. And leve it off for about 30 min.

That will reset the BIOS.

But if you are going to do that. Unplug the PC. Grab hold of a water tap or kitchen sink or some other grounded stuff. So you get rid of statical electrisity, before you start fiddling with the hardware. Othervice you risk damage the mobo for ex.

Yes I could enter the bios, however the computer restarts too fast for me to get into it.

um, if you cant enter the bios, how would you format the hard drive?

That can't be.... just press del or F2 over and over, very rapidly, from the time you hit the power button until you see the bios page...unless your keyboard is broken...

Took out the harddrive, stuff it into another comp, format, then put back. Then install xp.
Unfortunatly, my computer now restarts when joining games on Diablo II. It says that my video card driver was the problem. When trying to scan with bitdefender it closes it when it gets to 73%. And..I have not gone on any other websites other than ots.

Additional Info:

Intel 82845G /GL/GE/PE/GV graphics
Main driver for it : Ialmrnt5.dll 6.14.10.3943
WINDOWS XP

it completes the bios before loading from the drive. formatting would have no effect on you being able to enter the bios. removing the drive might help, which would indicate the drive is the problem.
