Installed WinXP Over existing WinXP...

Hey guys,

My computer got really messed up last night (loaded up really slow, couldn't drag icons, none of my drivers worked, etc) and formatting was really my last resort, so I tried to install WinXP SP2 integrated over it, and now everything *seems* fine again. My programs, most of them, work.. however, some dont.

My Audigy 2 stuff doesn't work at the moment (ie: control center, etc) and my Norton Antivirus 2005 doesn't work. I tried re-installing norton many times, but each time I get a "setup error".

I tried re-installing my Audigy 2 drivers, but nothing happens. Still no EAX Control, or any of the goods I used (surround mixer, etc).

I'm just wondering, will I have to format now? Or are there ways around this?

Thanks,

-IY

well, removing the offending programs, then reinstalling them should do it. a registry cleaner might do the job as well.

The thing is, I don't see these programs listed in the add/remove list
I'll try to download a registry cleaner

they should have their own uninstall programs, which should be run to uninstall them anyway. add/remove is for ones that dont.
