Half-Life 2 Expansion in the works

Good news for everyone that just can't get enough of Half-Life 2.
PC Gamers rejoice--Half-Life 2 is getting its first expansion. Valve Software has confirmed that Half-Life 2: Aftermath is in the works, and will make an official announcement with details on the game in the coming weeks.

Bah.. they should have stuck with the format of HL1's expansions. That is, the same game from a different character's perspective. Plus, the way it's rumored now is totally the opposite of how the game ends...
I swear, if they develop the plot to have Alyx and Gordon fall in love with each other, I'm going to be pissed. Even bringing back Alyx or Gordon in the first place is going to be lame. Killing off Alyx at the end of HL2 was a very unique twist, and Gordon was taken back by the G-Man... I'd hate to see them slip into an overdone hero/heroine romance plot.

I'm not all that concerned about it. A lot of people said Valve would screw this game up, and they delivered a masterpiece. The spinoff Half-Life games that third party companies made (not Valve) didn't do so well, kinda like what will happen to Starcraft: Ghost.

I don't remember alyx actually dying in Hl2? What ending did you see. Nothing says she actually died.

oh, you know, I just figured it would be pretty hard to survive a dark matter generator exploding when you're standing 20 yards from it.

I like Blue Shift more than HL. Wasnt quite as long, but was a lot better IMO.

gman most likely wouldnt have let her die if he saved gordon. If gman stopped time he can damn well save them too.
And that post about the armor points was about the most n00b thing i've heard. Does anybody honestly think a hev suit would save you from that kind of explosion? The flashlight stays on for hardly 30 seconds and might absorb a grenade at close range when fully charged.
Which do you think would win, big explosion? or the hev suit?. . .

What was the difference in Blue Shift? i never read alot about it.
As for an expansion i'm very excited for one. I love all the HL games. I thought the 2nd one was great, and the ending keeps you questioning

in Blue Shift you played through the Black Mesa incident as a security guard. I didn't think it was that great.. it was too short and you only got to use like four or five weapons. It was more like the game was centered around the fact that you got to see Gordon a lot during the course of the game. IMO, Opposing Force was many times better than BS.

i quit opposing force when an engineer got caught in a doorway and stayed there, no matter how many times i reloaded the game and ran throughit. same engineer getting stuck in the same doorway over and over.

If the gravity gun gets blue and can throw people around after being shockified by a tractor beam (let alone the fact that the combine charger stations start regenerating health and armor), I think the suit can manage.

ps. a little off topic but im celebrating my tenth time beating hl2. . .not really but i did beat it ten times. . .I need another revolutionary game to come out to pry me off it. . .(like hl3?)

Can't wait for the expansion, i just orgasmed while playing hl2  . Garry's mod is also an awsome mod as well as css, one of my favorites  .
And btw, who cares about the hl2 expansion when we can discuss hl3?
