My kazaa lite k++ client "died". It will no longer run. Did this happen to anyone else, or did i just get lucky. I'm wondering if Sharmen networks released a k+ virus or something. Has anyone had any luck with kazaa resurection?

thanx

HOLY CRAP YOU STILL USE THAT.
Dude everyone realized that thing came with spyware back in 2001 and they ditched it apparently its been shut down serves those Bitches right.

Sorry the profanity but I was really frustrated with Spyware back then

K++ was the version without spyware

I dunno what may be up with K++ but I recommend you move into the world of torrents instead of download programs like Kazaa. They are a lot more reliable, ussualy download faster, and have a lot bigger of collection pool.

I agree torrents are alot better...and john kazaa LITE was the version without spyware...then it got shut down by kazaa.

Anyway NoseDive this happened to me also a while back. If you still want to use Kazaa Lite then just reinstall it. Thats what i did and it worked again. (then i stopped using it becuase there were so many corrupted files)

I agree about the torrent thing, but i can't get it to go through my stupid netgear router dang firewall.

I new Kazaa stoped releasing K++ (cause why would they want a free version without adware). But I still have a copy of it and used to use it. I use Sharaza now. Maybe they figured out a way to make it stop working.

About the Torrent thing, maybe its because I tried using torrents when I first heard about it. But I found it complicated and I couldnt get it to work.

I use kazaa because i dont know anybetter, but i need major expertice if anyone can help. I just started using it on windows media center pc and now when i try to play a song that i downloaded I get a windows prombt" aquiring license" and it wont let me play the song. I have tried to play it in kazaa, windows media player, and music match, but i still get that prombt. Can anyone help!! pleaseee

TO johninc:
I totally understand your frusteration and probalby would have used profanity as well.

As for the different versions of Kazaa, I belive that both KaZaA Media Desktop (KMD) has spyware/ad-ware, and the original KaZaa Lite (K-lite) has spyware that tracks your downloads so you can get sued by Sony, later. Kazaa lite k++ (k++) was an illegal hacked version of KMD without any ad-ware, spyware, or tracking software. SHarman Networks sued every ISP who hosted a website making it available.

I tried to re-intsall the client, but that has been unsuccessfull.

I actually tried to use bit-torrent, but I am not sure that I understand what I am doing. As far as I understand it, I have to locate a file to download from a web site. Is there a way I can connect toa torent server and search fgor a file, like I could with Kazaa?

thanx

not sure if there's somthing like that.
But another good downloading service is WinMx. Its completly free and free of spyware/adware. The dl speeds on that are good for me not great.

*Edit* - Shareaza is good too

if your not ready to use a torrent client, i would suggest limewire. pretty good program, and its free and no spycrapware. check it out.

Posted by: johninc

I'd go with limewire, thanks tony.
I actually spent over 2 hours teaching myself to use BitTorrent then I figured it out and now my router is also letting it through YAY!!!

Posted by: johninc

You use a site to get a file called a .torrent that tells BitTorrent where to get your download. Actually from what I no supernova (or at least a collection of its files are back on).

Posted by: Ocean

i wont advertize the one i use anymore. its on the brink of becoming used by the dumbass masses. but now i can login and choose from over serveral petabytes of legal content. and get it all much faster than any of those noobie programs

Ok what do u use?
