Ok here is the deal

Running WinXP. SP2. Started having problems with IE. You know the whole "Internet Explorer Has encountered an internal error and must shut down" (well something like that) So I figured that I can just reinstall IE. Hard this to do, followed the instructions from Microsoft, and didn't work at all. Then the moron that I am had a brainstorm. Why not just uninstall SP2 and reinstall. Well I uninstalled and well now IE will not work at all. I get the standard DNS error. Luckily I have Netscape installed and am still able to get around to do what I need. However I hate netscape. and well windows update requires IE to function. Any ideas on how I can get IE to work well enough to run Windows Update?

Painful way: Reinstall xp =)

Another way: Get mozzila firefox and just get updates from windows automatic updates.

Service pack 2 sometimes mess up some computers. (Rumor?)

Those are all the options I could think of for now. Ask the other smart people (from ots) for the better advice :P
