FDisking a Vaio

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

A friend just gave me a Sony Vaio comp. It runs on ME. I can't FDisk it. It has an admistrator's password. My friend is back in Germany and I can't get the p word.

How can I do this? (Someone suggested wiping out the Bios using jumpers ?? and putting in a new hard drive ??) There has to be a more elegant solution.

an administrators password wouldnt prevent formatting. a bios password would, which you will have to obtain from your friend most likely, as most wont clear when you clear the cmos for security reasons. i trust there are phones and/or computers in germany?
