Pioneer DVD-115 will not read DVD media

Pioneer DVD-ROM DVD-115 will play audio CD's but will not read or even recognize any DVD media.

I am using Power DVD (DVD/CD Player) and it reads the CD audios fine but when a DVD is in the player and Play button is pressed it reports back "DVD -> NO DISC IN drive D".

I have the default selected drivers installed that Windows 2000 Professional selected from the Found New Hardware which are:
Driver Provider: Microsoft
Driver Date: 11/14/1999
Driver Version 5.0.2183.1
Difital Signature: Microsoft Windows 2000 Publisher

The installed drivers are named:
C:\winnt\system32\Drivers\cdrom.sys
C:\winnt\system32\Drivers\redbook.sys
C:\winnt\system32\Drivers\storprop.dll

The player is also set for Region 1

I have checked Pioneerelectronics website for latest drivers and they are only for a Dos installation so I have to go with the drivers that Win 2000 Pro finds under the new hardware installation.

This is an ATAPI device and I was wondering if there was any way to choose an ATAPI_CD.SYS driver instead instead of the default one that was installed by the find new hardware program?

Any help in getting this DVD Player to read and play DVD's again would be much appreciated.

Thank you
