I just need to know how to install the sony dvd and cd burner. Because when I go to burn music it says no drive found

Woah there, you need to be WAY more specific than that. What are you using to burn music with? Does your BIOS recognize the burner? Is it internal or external? Does the drive show up in explorer?

It is a drive that I installed in my tower. So it is internal. It is a Sony DVD movie and music burner. I dont know how to look to see if it is installed anywhere.

Open up My Computer and see if its in there. If it is, try putting in a CD and opening it up.

It's no where to be found. It not in "my computer"

In control panel/system/hardware tab/device manager button/ Does it show your drive, or an error.

When you boot does your coimputer say it found new hardware and trys to install software for it?

If so, you probably need to install the proper driver for it.

If not, you havent hooked up your drive properly (open your case and check your cables (IDE and Power).

Did you install it yourself? Did you set jumpers correctly? Does it show up in BIOS?

Posted by: brentbryce

What is BIOS?

I found in my hardware a drive that said Mantor 6l040j2. How do I install the proper driver for it?

Go to sony's website. Bios stands for Basic Input Output System. It is the OS that's built into your motherboard that controls hardware (that's the one sentance description, it's actually more complicated)
