i have just put my old hard drive into my new computer to test it, it came up with boot disk failure, so i put my new hard drive back in but i still get boot disk failure and it was working fine before.
Ive checked the cables and they are okay plus the bios detects everything fine
Its as if there isnt an OS on the hard drive
what can i do? Please help?

If you know what you are doing, check your BIOS to see if it is set to boot to whichever HDD you want it to. Even if it detects it, does not mean it is trying to boot to it.

Its your jumpers set properly (master)? In your bios, is it set to auto detect your hdd? Is your power cable plugged in? Does your computer past the POST?

Hi, theres isnt an option in the bios to set which HDD is boots from is there? If there is please tell me wher cos the bios is pretty straight forward n i couldnt of missed it.
Its working now and i have no idea why. I did put another HDD in and installed XP and it was working fine, i just unplugged it and it booted from my Original Sata so everythings cool. Just hope when i reboot its not going to play up again. its really really strange.

The BIOS is specific to each vender, so the options may not be the same, however similar. It would probably be labelled "Boot Order" or something similar. It might not even be an obvious menu, just an option you highlight and get a menu from there.
Either way, glad it works for you. Let us know if it doesnt boot again.
