512mb of ram not working?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Ok so I added 512mb of 400mhz RAM

on my ABIT KG7 LITE

The guy said my memory would just downclock to 266mhz, and I also believe this, and that later when I buy my new board it will be ready to work at 400...

So I get this error whe nwindows attempts to boot :

STOP 0x 0000000000007 (not sure how many 0s)

and it tells me to uninstall any hard disk controllers I recently installed....

I also added an ATI RADEON 9250, but that shouldn't be the problem

I also have another 256 working at 266 next to it (2 dimms)

euh, I have an athlon 1800+¸

Windows XP PRO

On a 60gb drive

Soundblaster live

Dlink card

and that,s all hooked toa 400watts psu

thanks

Somehow it works perfectly on Safe Mode with Network support

My computer detects 768 of ram (256 + 512) and my radeon works...?

Where is the problem? The computer is stable with the ram, I'm on MSN and internet,

No lag at all...

How cna I fix this asap?

The computer doesn't like you.

Anyways, here is some questions you should be thinking about...

Did you put the card backwards? :P
Is both the same type (DDR and whatever the other one is)?
Uncompatible with your motherboard? (?)
