Chaintech 6BTM0 and XP

I've been asked to upgrade an old PC for a work colleague. It's a white box, using a board I've identified as a 6BTM0 from Chaintech with a PII350. I installed XP but after running the first batch of WindowsUpdates (pre SP2) the PC intermittently resets itself. No warning, just POW, like the Reset button is pressed.

- System not overclocked nor ever has been
- Checked all the cables
- unplugged and reseated everything
- updated the BIOS
- changed the RAM
- set all BIOS parameters to default then "safest" settings
- installed XP twice, 2nd time on new disk
- removed unecessary PCI cards (modem) - there are no ISA cards
- now stuck for ideas.

Before I give up and put Win98SE back on, does anyone know if this board can take XP?

John
