ZDNet News has some news about Matsushita working on some new 2 sided rewrtieable optical DVD disk technology capable of storing 100 Gigabytes of data. The technology used would make DVD compatibility difficult, but Matsushita hopes the format will be used for the next generation of DVD discs.

That's a lot of MP3's on one disk. It would be an awsome formet for MP3 car stereos. Store your entire collection on one DVD. INDEED!

That's impressive. But, I can only think that this new technology will be used later in a different way than DVD.

That's a nice concept ... the whole Star Wars saga (6 films) in one disc ... *drool*
