Cant install & update DOOM III

I cant install or removes Doom3. I did manual uninstall, ended up cannot reinstall a fresh copy.
When I install doom3, the file will install. At the end of installation, the installer will suddently exit without warning and the
installed file will removed automatically. (At the end of the installation process before the Congratulations Menu appears.)
I tried manual install. But I cant install the 1.1 or 1.2 patch for Doom3. Also similar problem happend, at the end of installation the installer will exit itself and the patch will revert back to v1.0.
Now I am stuck looped. Install then auto removes. If I reinstall the doom 3 on the manual install folder. It will revert to before reinstall. How odd

I also suspect that is InstallShield problem. The Installer process goes like this, Intalling -> Registering -> Publishing Product Information (Then hdd heavyloadz) -> The installer exit.
When I tried to uninstall doom3. The process like superfast, It wont removes file. Then said finish uninstall. But I still can see Doom3 in Add/removes program...
Anyone know where can I see the log file for the installer process? or How to clean uninstall and reinstall InstallShield?

you wont need to reinstall installshield, as you never isntall it ( its it own exec)
1) clean discs thouroughly [important!]
2) try unisntalling again
3) delete c:\progarm files\doom III ( or c:\programfiles\id\doom3 something like that)
4) uninstall again, for good measure (probably WONT work)
5) try reinstalling

Like I said. It wont uninstall, I've tried that process more than 10 times. I am sure It has something to do with the "Publishing Product Information" part. Could be registery problem like cant write or what...
Can this be a prob? Coz I've reinstalled windows tons of times during my RAM crash session. Just too lazy to do a clean installl of windows. I might consider a clean install when Longhorn out next year

Sorry, I dun use AIM. I onli has hotmail and yahoo messanger only.
I went to contact support at Activision. They said I need to uninstall the Windows SP2 to intall Doom3. How lame was that, who wants to go trough so many trouble for that? Anyway, I have found a alternative to that solution. I copied my bros doomIII installation and paste it to my pc. What do u know, it does works.
But this intallation puts a limitation if I want to update my doom3 to later version(1.3, etc...)
Anyway, if you can send me the file via msn messanger or yahho will be great. Thanks ahead to bspeltback!!

Try renaming the files in here "C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Driver"
I had 7,8,9 and 10 in there, it worked for me. Dont know what effect this will have elsewhere yet, but you can always change it back after doom installation.
