Gnopernicus and Xandros (debian) Linux

Hi there. Well I'm stuck and need to share my problem with one of you Gurus to become unstuck. I'm trying to find a special purpose program like Gnopernicus and have it working for a visually impaired person. It is a challenge. We tried Fedora Core 3, but soon chanded to Xandros (well at the present time) and the idea is to get this Gnopernicus to work.
It was easy to download via the Xandros Network procedure and 'installation' seems to have gone OK but (yes BUT) it doesn't work, so to the point has any of you tried such program or equivalent with a Debian Linux... Help....
