lanman.exe?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

this program just recently started running on my computer, its never been there before. Every time I try to delete it, it is replaced with a "qweqwrwer" (just an example) file (or other randomly generated file name). I cant get it off, I was wondering if anyone knew what lanman.exe is, and if needed, how do i delete it?

As you said, this is something, that just appeared, I would suspect your computer is virus infected.
There are trojan horses, that use Lanman.

So start your AV and scan. Then go to Bit defender on line scan:

http://www.bitdefender.com/scan/licence.php
And Trend Micro House call :

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Then download Spybot. And as a last resort, get Hijack This. and open it in a specially made folder in Windows Safe mode. and scan.
Then look at the log Hijack provides, and look for any "Lanman" stuff.
