Hi, I have a problem with (un)installing zone alarm for my windows xp computer. I have u ninstalled it, but in the c:/windows/system32/zonelabsder, there is a vsmon.exe that can't be moved. When I try to re-install zone alarm, it tells me that this file can't be opened, and whenever I try to delete this file, it says that it is in use. I check the processes that are open, and this file isn't one of them. I also tried safe mode, but still can't delete it. Can someone help me re-install zonealarm? Thanks.

Try a system restore point, that is of a date BEFORE you uninstalled the ZA. Then use Control panel "Add / Remove programs" to uninstall it. And then install a new copy. Or, download a registry repair / remove software.

Hmm.. Download and run Process Explorer .. It is better than WinXP's Task Manager .. See if VSMon.exe is listed under a child process .. Just kill the service and then delete the file ..
