well guys, this way worked for me, not sure if it will for u. But if u tried every other way then i guess its wrorth a try , having problems hosting through because your on a shared connection or have a router then read on heh.

i have been unable to host for years but when my friend got a new router he was unable to host aswell, so i messed around with my dads computer which is the main computer connected to the LAN, and my pc is connected to his.

1. go to the main pc, and then enable other computers to enable/disable the network connection, this would allow ur own pc to alter the connection.

2. on ur own pc, there should be an icon under network connections - internet gateway, click on that and there should probably be a button which says "settings", go there.

3. inside settings there should be a list of several items, some ticked and some not probably, near the bottom of this page there should be a button which says "Add" or "Add port" wateva..cba checking, click that

4. under Description just put anything in, i.e WC, then second box, insert ur computers name, this can be found by right clicking "my computer" then properties --> computer name, copy it and paste into the box, select the TCP, and add 6112, into both ports.

5. click OK!, ok, apart from this which made it work, i also turned every single firewall off every other pc, i dont download much, so i wud say im quite safe from viruses, but thats up to u, well it works for me now, after several years.

6. FInally! good luck guys, only trying to help....sorry if it doesnt help.

hey, i followed your instructions, everything was going good until when i clicked okay to save the changes and get out of it an error message popped up saying:

The Internet Gateway did not accept your changes
if the problem persists, you must change the Internet settings directly, usually by using web interface for the gateway

ill try to figure it out by myself, but i was just seeing if u could save me some trouble of spending painfull hours tryin to figure it out. Thanks for the help!

Nevermind, i just remembered to follow your first step on using the main computer to allow other computers to do alter connection settings. I was just telling you this so you wouldn't waste your time tryin to solve my first problem.

now its just a matter if it'll work...
