If you have an AGP port on that Desktop? ( But if it's a laptop or notebook, it will be a lot more complicated). You can put a Geforce 6800GT (AGP). 256 mb. in there if you want to? But taking your Processor in consideration, a more realistic choise would be, Albatron Geforce FX5500 256MB 128-bit DDR AGP 4X/8X Videocard. 78 USD. at newegg. or SAPPHIRE RADEON 9600 128M Radeon 9600 128MB 128-bit DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card - OEM. $69.00.
If you have'nt got any AGP Port on your motherboard. A PCI Video card, like the Jaton FX 5700LE. 128 mb. or Apollo Bloody Monster III FX 5700LE. 128 mb. PCI. Would be the best you can get. A PCI Video card, fits into any PCI slot on your motherboard.
The Jaton card costs 100 USD at Newegg.
Apollo Bloody Monster III. costs $89.00
Check out newegg.

Generic message to all, Sony machines are pcv NOT pvc. pvc is a type of polycarbon pipe used in plumbing. People seem to make this typo all the time.
Anyway, you do have an AGP slot in there.
Whatever video card you choose, max out your memory, though what combination of RIMMs do you have to make 384? RDRAM needs pairs, what do you have 2*128 +2*64?.
Given your processor, and the age of your platform, maxing out your ram will help. At least its RDRAM, which is still faster than any DDR we have today (unless one does a sick OC). If you have a second hd laying around (do NOT purchase one just for this), put your swapfile on the other drive, not the one windows boots from.
