SWAT 4 door glitch

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: DesertStorm13

hi my problem concerns a glitch that only happens on MY cpu. when i would be playin the game, the doors look as if they're in another dimention. they look like some vortex figure. also, some things in the game are invisible including the training dummies, random obstacles, and even some doors. i have the directX 9 installed and everything. Do u think its a problem with the game or my cpu, and if so is there anything i can do about it??

What video card?
Have you recently updated the video card driver?
Is all your other games working , without problems?

First off, I'd like to say my cpu is a little bit ancient:
I have an Intel Celeron processor with 1000 MHx, 1.0 GHx, and 448 MB of RAM

My video card is a NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400
chip type:GeForce2 MX
DAC type: Ingrated RAMDAC
Memory sixe; 64 MB
Adapter string: GeForce2 MX
Bios Information: Version 3.11.0148

also, the only game i have on my cpu right now is swat so i dont know if it could be on any other game.

I hope this helps any...hit me back

Like goranpaa said, try updating your video card drivers, that usually fixes these kind of problems. You can get yours at www.nvidia.com.

I must say, that you are in bad luck here!
According to the system requirements, for the game, Geforce MX, is'nt supported.
So maybe, that's why you have problems.

Swat 4 system requirements:

Windows 98/ME/2000/XP (Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3, Windows XP with Service Pack 1 or later) Celeron 1.2 GHz or AMD Athlon 1.2 GHz 256 MB RAM 2 GB free hard disk space DirectX 8.1 compatible audio support Minimum graphics card: nVidia GeForce 2 (MX 200/400 not supported) with 32 MB or ATI Radeon 8500 with 64 MB, with Microsoft DirectX 9 driver installed Recommended graphics card: nVidia GeForce 4 Ti (not MX) with 128 MB, ATI Radeon 9500 with 128 MB, with Microsoft DirectX 9.0 driver installed.

So maybe, getting a video card like, FX CHAINTECH SA5500 Geforce FX5500 128MB DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card. $56.00 at newegg.

http://www.newegg.com/

This card will meet the latest games system requirements, without beeng too expensive.
And you will also get sufficient memory for modern games ( 128 mb) + direct X 9.0. support.

And anyhow, you will get a more out of your games, like improved image quality.
Would'nt be surpriced, if you tried one of your older games, that you will se details, that you never seen before in the game.

it says that a mx 200/400 wouldnt be supported and just so you know im kinda dumb so it may be obvious to you but not to me would a geForce4 mx 420 be compatible with this game because im having the same problem

Unfortunatly , all the MX seies video cards is a bit on the "weak side" for playing a game like this.

And it gets even worse if it is a Geforce MX , 32 or 64 mb of memory.

A good upgrade for you, that is pretty cheap nowadays, is Radeon 9600 XT. 128 mb. Or if you feel you can afford it? Radeon 9800 Pro. 128 mb. Costs about 125 - 130 USD.
Those cards will be able to handle modern games well.

And if you are running Windows XP? You should at least have 512 mb of RAM memory in your system. Up to 1 gig of RAM is guaranteeing a solid gaming performance.

But be aware of, that you must get the same type and speed of RAM as your old RAM stick.

Download "Everest Home" and check out what kind of RAM you got?

Everest Home, here: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/everest.html

Do not EVER , put any trust in the so called " minimum system requirements " on any game!
The game manufacturers set this extremely low requirements, to sell more games!
