What is the best AV software for a small file server? I was thinking of using McAfee. Also, would it be a good idea to load the software on to the file server for downloading, or would it be better to do so directly from the CD on each workstation? Simple as it seems, I can't get an answer.

Bye the way, its a win 2000 Server with Service pack 4.

each workstation should have its own security, of course. that would mean a corporate license or multiple copies. an av and firewall on the server is a must, any program for businesses will do.

profacci,

I am very happy with avast. They have a server edition that is supposed to be great. But also Panda is great, as it will also find more file related to spyware too.
