Hey,
I'm trying to access the web config to my router using 192.168.1.254 which is default DNS for it, but i couldn't get to it, this is after I installed Firefox 1.0.4, I tried uninstalling Mozilla and it still didnt work on IE. COuld it be a registry problem? I'm not too sure where to start looking, but some solutions ahve bene to physically reset the router and then try the URl again
Then I tried 192.168.1.1 but nothing to avail. i have IE 6.0 Mozilla Firefox 1.0.4
Nothing has worked for me so far using those resolutions,
Anyhow I ahve router Billion BIPAC 7100
Any help at all is appreciated!

if there's only a few computers on the network and you are the network administrator, try doing an IP sweep. Can you access it from the other computers?

The default should be 192.169.1.1, not 254 as you stated, unless you've changed it. If you can't get it on an IP sweep, I'd just reset the router. Then you should be able to get to it from 192.168.1.1

The default for that router is 254. attempt to ping it has not somehow changed. if that does not work attempt the command in a console window or dos promt (depending on ur OS):
arp -a
will give you a list of all recently talked to adresses on you network. and should all else fail there is always the reset button on the back in that little hole between "line" and "lan" to put it back to factory specs.

yeah or you could to to "start" , "run" , "cmd" "ipconfig/all" and look for the "DEFAULT GATEWAY" IP address and type it in the "address bar" and when the messege : user name and password pop's up
you could try "admin" for both username and password , you should go in

hate to point out the obvious, but most of these things have the factory default
ip etc on the sticker at the bottom.

I think the easiest option is just to reset the router and look at the factory default IP adress.

no, the easiest is to get a new router

OK, the easiest and cheapest.
"If its broken, reboot.
If its still broken, reinstall the OS.
If its still broken, get a new computer."

if it's still broken after a new computer, replace user...
