Indeed, it would be nice if you typed with your fingers instead of your feet.

Not all of us here have English as first language you know. So street rap is kinda " Martian" to us.

Posted by: Ocean

you used a quicktime crack that said it was a key from version 8? and now itunes thinks there is a newer itunes on the comp?

uninstall quicktime then regclean

Posted by: redwench

those of us with english as a first language cant read it either, dont worry.

Sigh...I just got this same error msg today...

"a later version of iTunes is already on this machine. Installation cannot continue"

We've been flying on Itunes w/o a problem...this morning...we downloaded the upgrade for Itunes and now we get this msg.

I did remove Quicktime and rebooted...I even defraged...but I don't know the regscan move.

I'm a novice here...up to 4 years ago...I didn't even know how to turn on a computer!

I have also run virus scan and Ad-Aware again...

Should I remove Itunes and start over w/the CD I have? Will I lose My Library? I haven't tryed it yet...but will I be able to move the songs from the iPod back to the computer? I'm sure there is a way...just asking....

TIA for any help. DH only has 20 more CD's to get onto the iPod...why did I download that upgrade????? Grrrrr.....

Take care...be safe!

Edited to add: Dell Dimension 4700 Win XP SP2

uninstall i tunes, quicktime, and everything else remotely related (probably your OS too ) then run a registry cleaner. you should then be able to download and install the latest version of itunes.

Thank you for your suggestion! I'm off to work...I'll get this done this evening. Have a great day!

I will not download any updates for iTunes again! Yuck Yuck Yuck! What a mess!
