Mixing Brands of Ram

Hi
I have a friend who has a 256 SDRAM stick of Toshiba ram and recently got a Crucial stick of 256 SDRAM from the big sale going on.
Will there be a problem mixing brands? Any known problems with these 2 brands?
I looked on the Internet and I have not yet come upon a problem.

You shouldn't have a problem. But, it always wise to look for one to pop up.

Just be sure to use the memory timings in your BIOS to match the slowest of the DIMMS if they are different. A lot of DIMMS will run above spec but doing so may cause the possibility of memory issues popping up. The memory timings should be on the module somewhere written on a sticker. If not, try typing the model number in a search engine and something should come up.

Just remember, RAM has to follow a format to an extent. Unless there is some stupid idea, like a certain motherboard specific type, then you most likely won't have any problems. Though keep your eyes open for them. And as Ion said, make sure that you have the memory timings set to the equal of the slowest dimm or you would technically be overclocking the slower chip.
As for my general opinion, all systems should be go on that.
