Well I got fed up with using a keyboard and mouse with PS/2 and USB extension cords so I splurged on a cordless keyboard and mouse setup.
This keyboard is sweet! Besides matching my case almost perfectly, it has a real nice feel to it. The multimedia keys on it are sweet and work with most major media programs like Winamp, Win and Power DVD, Windows media, Quicktime, etc. It's so cool to navigate through winamp songs and adjust volume without even maximizing the program. The Internet keys are highly customizable as well.
It comes with a cordless optical mouse too. Which is decent, but i'm sorry, nothing touches Microsoft when it comes to mice. The 2 extra buttons on each side of the intellimouse make web browsing super convenient.
Still I am loving this keyboard even though the mouse isn't the best IMO. Still a better mouse than a standfard generic one at least.

Hehe Ion, I saw those Logitech Cordless combo's. I didn't like the idea of having to switch to a different mouse to match my keyboard. I LOVE my Microsoft Intellipoint Optical, it's the best mouse I've used. And you are definetly correct on the browsing statement. The fact that you have a foward and back button on the mouse really makes you happy. I also have the scroll button set to refresh. I love this mouse. Almost as much as I loved my first Logitech Trackball type mouse. Back then, I went through MS mice like water. I broke so many of those things with my rough Duke Nukem 3d adventures lol. That trackball had a nice layout of 4 buttons and a really nice comfortable design to it. But if I could have this intellipoint instead, I'd take it anyday.
As for the keyboard, it looks nice enough, and cordless does sound like a nice option. It does have an AC Adapter right? heheh

hehe, no AC Adaptor. The IR reciever plug into both PS/2 slots or 1 PS/2 slot and one USB slot. That's one good thing. No need to waste a USB slot and it works great on the PS/2 port since the hardware uses AA batteries to operate.
I have a ton of Energizer rechargeables so power is not an issue.

Aww, dang, I was wondering where you had to plug the stupid thing in. Imagine you had some freak accident with those rechargables?!?! lol

Damn... I did a nice write up of my logitech setup. (Logitech Cordless Freedom iTouch Keyboard and Mouse
Model: 967092-040). Then I did a search and my heart sunk when I found out there was already a thread on it
Ion I didnt get the same one as you, I didnt think I would use all of those features, I got the white one
they are great, no hanging cords to worry about.
If you mods/admins want my write up, I'll be more than happy to send it to you

And why are MS mice better again?
My Logitech ...er....blue optical mouse rocks
Was about $50 canadian, and imho beats any ms mouse to hell. Its exactly the right weight, its molded to my right hand (Altho not the left hand, but I don't care ) and the optical mouse rocks--no more cleaning for me. There are only 3 buttons (including scroller) but thats enough for me.

How many hours do the batteries last in the keyboard?
Does it use power when the computer is on, and you aren't doing anything with it?

If you play lots of games..stay away from cordless keyboards and mice. Nothing like trying to play CS with a noticeable delay between keystrokes.
I know, was tempted to buy the same setup as Ion but found that in store, I didn't like the noticeable lag. Decided to buy a Logitech 800DPI dual optical instead. Its right next to my Logitech ifeel 400DPI mouse. My original 400DPI Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer is now collecting dust.

Logitech claims that their power management allows it to last 6months to a year. I beleive part of the power management is that when you arent using the keyboard/mouse that it goes into a hibernate mode.
Chako.. you must have had alot of interference. I have 0 Lag. Instantaneous. When I'm at the limits of transmission distance, it lags. When I had the transmitter right next to my speakers it lagged. When I tried to use my mouse while it was under the blanket it lagged(i was just testing..i swear). I found an optimal position and it worked great. Chako also how were the batteries?

Yeah I same here. I have zero lag from mine as well. The mouse tends to lag if I get too far from the transmitter though.
Using the logitech mouse for a while, I kind of like the feel of it better than the MS one. The only thing I hate about it is, it doesn't have a forward button like the IE explorer mouse.
Oh, and the black keyboard and mouse match my Minnion case perfectly.

Oh..this was at a store display. I like to test everything before buying, and I found it horrible...but then that was in store. I was only looking at the mouse because I like my MS natural keyboard Pro
I fell in love with the Logitechs dual optical mouse though...looks exactly like the one you have in your picture, same colour, same shape. Only difference is that it has a cord and 2 optical sensors positioned at 45 degree angle, ensuring that it never looses its ability to track. So far so good...just don't use it on mirrors.
I was torn up between the new explorer and the dual optical. My first Explorer was at 400DPI but only samples 1500 times. The second generation of MS Explorer mice (same shape as the original) was 400DPI also but samples at 2000 times. The newest revision 3 explorer mice still is 400DPI, but samples at 6000 times per second.
The Logitech dual optical has 2 800DPI sensors with a sample rate of 1500 per second., but only uses the best one at all times. The switching is seamless between sensors. Sometimes I do notice my mouse cursor jump...a correlational distance equal to the distance between the two sensors, but I have only seen this occur 3 times since I got it about 2 months ago.
I wanted a mouse that would not jump or stutter if you did a quick movement. The new Explorer and dual optical seemed to fix this. I just went with what was more comfortable for me.
