xbox live problems

I am having problems with x box live staying online to play games with other users. It will connect fine at first, but after playing for a few minutes it will start to brown out and then completly disconnect. Then I have to start over. We have a strong connection to our cable modem and have no problems with connecting to the internet thru computers or sony playstation. There is only the problem with xbox live. Does anyone have any idea if it is possiblly a glitch in the system or could it be my internet connection?
