Intel OverClock?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Is there any way to overcome the security bios on intel proccessors. In other words is there way to overclock that sucker, which intel has locked? Are there any progs(safe) that could do the job?

I think only the multiplier is locked, you can raise the FSB to overclock it, you might have to set the BIOS to "halt on no errors" or something like that.

There is no BIOS on the processor. Increasing the CPU clock and FSB on the motherboard is the method used.

Intel CPUs are not like Athlons. Athlons can be made to change the multiplier, not Intels.

Intel, Overclock? Now yer talking my language.

Anyways, here's a rundown of the things about intel chips.

First, you cannot unlock the multi-plier, which controls the CPU speed compared to the FSB(Front Side Bus) speed. If you have a 450Mhz chip, then you'll be running a 4.5x multiplier which cannot be changed.

Second, the FSB must be boosted to gain speed through the processor, by it's multiplier. So boosting with a 450mhz chip that's stock at 4.5x100 to something like, 4.5x112 would mean the chip is pushing 504mhz.

Last, if you want some assistance from me, I overclock my processor as well, give me some specifications on your equipment you're using.
