TCP/IP connection between home/work Mac's

Hello,
I am new to remote login/connections and I am having a bit of trouble figuring this out. I downloaded Timbuktu Pro for Macintosh and installed it on both my macs. I can't get a connection between the two of them, though. I'm running G5's with OS X 10.3.9. Comcast is my ISP. IS this a firewall issue? If so, will someone please guide me through the process of figuring this thing out! I am visiting the relatives next week and I would really like to access my mac while I'm gone if that is possible.
Thanks,
Mymrman
