Need Help with the Sims 2!!!

hi! anyway i got the sims 2 last christmas and all that time it hasn't worked and i really need help!!!! everytime i try to load it it says failed to find this graphics thing. please make sure something.... anyway i saw the message poster by zorg how you how to go to the desktop and whatever... i went to properties, then settings. under that little computer thing is said: hp pavilion v50c on Intel(R) 82810E Graphics Controller. someone please help i seriously want to play the sims 2!!!!!!!!!
