Problem with windows media player, how can i solve it?

recently i had to scan my pc with a new antivirus, and install a new firewall
after that i try to see a video, play an mp3 etc. Trying to use wmedia player and it sends a error saying and internal application error has ocurred.
also i have installed wmedia player 10 to solve the problem but it doe´snpt work
I have used norton system doctor and it has repaired all errors
i have read a lot trying to find answers and i dowloaded and installed mscoree.dll in system32 so that the error that system doctor couldn´t solve was corrected, and it did correct the error
How can I make my wmedia player work again

This work for me!!!
Click Start then Click Run.
type in regsvr32 jscript.dll
Click OK
Then Click start again and then Run.
Type in regsvr32 vbscript.dll
Click OK
And it also fixed a lot of other problems in my computer too. Thorby
My problem was solved
