A media center PC is a computer with Media jacks for easy use and with a IR connector so you can use a controller
Its just a regular computer with a tv tuner card with a controller, Most of what i have seen are INTEL but Im making a media center with an AMD 64

any processor from the last couple years could be used. the bios and windows will display which one you have.
