Can anyone recommend a good DVD Player for Linux/Unix. I've found olge and MPlayer, but would like to know if thier was any other choices out thier. Before I start experimenting with those two. Thiers only one requirment I ask the Path to the CD must not be hardcoded, meaning that I can change it to a Virtual Device, being as I do not have a DVD Drive on my computer, but I do have ISO's of my personal DVD's as backups, I was going to load them to a Virtual Drive on my laptop and play them at work.

I would suggest to check few other DVD player like Ogle DVD Player and panasonic. However you can get more information regarding your requirement on the site of digital-digest, you should also visit there forum for more information and clarifications.

Xine, Kaffeine, Totem, and VLC are all pretty popular.

I wouldn't think you would run into problems using a virtual drive, as you should be able to move the /dev/dvd link to point anywhere.

When I finally got VLC to work, I was happy. It plays everything I throw at it. I think that I learned more about Linux from getting VLC to work that I did doing anything else.

I have had erratic results with Totem, although xine by itself works fine.

Now if I can only get dualhead display working...
