RDRam Delima - Opinions Wanted

I have a Hp Pavilion xt967 Pentium 4 1.3 ghz with 256 RDRam.
I want to upgrade to 512 Ram, but heres the problem:
I thought I had 2x 128mb Chips, but I used SiSoft Sandra and found out I have 4x 64mb chips. That made me angry, because now im going to have to spend more money.
Here is the costs:
4x 128mb Chips = $156(wihtout tax/shipping)
2x 256mb Chips = $172(without tax/shipping)
Now, the question: Is it worth it to spend the few extra dollars for the 256mb Chips? I hear that bigger/fewer chips run faster than smaller/more chips.
Im eventually gonna build an AMD System, but I dont have the money to do it right now, so im gonna upgrade this thing.
BTW: I got those prices from PriceWatch.com that is a good site right?

It must be a pretty new system. Check with HP and see if they have an upgrade program for you to exchange the RDRAM.
I checked HP's website for that model. They don't publish the manual or the memory configuration. I also checked with Crucial (www.crucial.com) and they don't even have any memory compatible with your computer.
It looks like you may not have "generic" RDRAM. You will most likely need to go back to HP.

its a "Bundled" pc. It is on there, but its hard to find.
Heres some links for it:

Prices will come down as time goes by. RDRAM is still expensive. Wait a while if money is important.
Bigger/fewer chips don't make the speed rating of the RIMM. The rating does.
Pricewatch is a price barometer. Most of the sites on there sell items at a loss to get you to their site. They can charge a lot for shipping. Buy from someplace you trust or is reputable.

Im gonna go with the 2x 256 chips, but now that raises another question. I know that they have to be done in pairs and that means I will have 2 open slots. But couldnt i just leave 2 of the 64mb chips in there instead of getting some of those Rimm Fillers or whatever their called?
That would save me some more money. Im kinda at a brickwall right now for money, I bought a bunch of games, so Im broke now. I might be getting a job making webpages.

Save your money. Chances are you won't notice ANY performance enhancement by upgrading your memory. You already have 256 megs of RAM. 156$ is a lot of money to waste on what would probably be a 4% increase in performance.

A new sound card. The one I got is a SoundBlaster 128 Pci. Its a piece of crap. Im gonna get an Xgamer Audigy but they are a lot of money at the stores and sold out on the net.
I got a TNT2/64 Pro 32mb Video Card, which works just fine for me for now.

They are $159 Canadian beaver bucks up here...and you can find them on store shelves wherever you turn. I took note because that was the price I paid for my Live card.
