Does This ever happen in socom 2 for you???

Ok usually i turn on my slim ps2 and play socom 2 then i just press online then connect and it would work..now i TRY to play socom 2 online and it doesnt work it will say Network cable is disconnecting or sumthin i forgot but it happens like 5-10 times to try (it sux becuase it takes a good 2mins to get back to menu each time it doesnt connect think about it 10x2=20minutes JUST TO ****N SIGN ON) before DNAS finally pops up..
so basicly it keeps sayin network cable is disconnected and ity wont let me sign on at all NEVER!!!-oyea my ps2 is connected with a ethernet cable straight to the modem no router or anything.also it use to work before and im usin a slim ps2.
so please some one help ive bben every where tryin to find answer but its all shit so please give me anything links replys pictures even i dont care please help!!(friends showoff that socom 2 works for them.
